- Any notes or concerns you type into the form
Payment information: All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment details. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.
Automatically collected:
- Basic usage data (pages visited, time on site) via analytics
- Device type and browser (to ensure the app works properly on your device)
- IP address (standard web server logging)
How We Use Your Information
- To generate and display your inspection report
- To process your payment via Stripe
- To improve the accuracy and quality of the service
- To diagnose technical issues
We do not use your vehicle data or inspection results for advertising, resale, or any purpose beyond delivering your report.
Data Storage & Security
Vehicle information you enter is processed in your browser session and used to generate your report. We do not maintain a database of your VIN or inspection details tied to your identity.
Payment transactions are secured by Stripe using industry-standard TLS encryption. We never see or store your full card number.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
- Vercel — website hosting
- NHTSA VIN API — free government API used to decode vehicle information from VINs
Cookies
We use minimal cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe may set cookies during checkout as part of their fraud prevention and payment processing.
Your Rights
You may contact us at any time to ask what data we hold about you or to request deletion. Since we don't maintain a persistent database of individual user sessions, there is typically nothing to delete beyond standard server logs, which are cleared regularly.
Children's Privacy
LemonScanner is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
